Maryland – A video showing police officers in full riot gear allegedly beating a student in college park, which has been aired nationwide, cast a new light on local police tactics. The home video footage shows the student after a basketball game skipping along a sidewalk before stopping at a phalanx of police officers on horseback. Suddenly from off camera two Prince George’s officers run up and attack the student. A moment later a third officer then joins in with the first two police officer’s. The FBI and the state’s attorney’s office in Prince George’s have begun investigating police conduct in the incident. Some of the officers in the video had come forward, but others had to be identified as part of the internal affairs investigation.
